In marketing, a business logo should represent what the business does, the website is usually the first impression people will gain and social media starts to add the personality and scope of the business highlighted by images and posts. This is a layering effect that builds texture, context, trust and begins to describe to potential customers who you are which helps them determine if they want to engage with the business. The same can be said about interior design or personal style. The spaces we live in and work in are layered with meaning coming from the hard scapes of doors, flooring, trim or hinges to the personality of couches, mantles, cabinets and the style of pillows, rugs and art work.
